The Itinerary
Day 01: Negombo.
Arrive and proceed to Negombo. Visit the Dutch channel for the sunset. Check in to the hotel and overnight stay at Negombo.
Day 02: Anuradhapura.
Check out and proceed to Anuradhapura UNESCO world heritage site and visit the site. Visit Minintale for the sunset.
Day 03: Habarana.
Check out and proceed to visit Aukan Buddha statue and Kalawewa. Visit Ritigala forest monastery. Overnight at Sigiriya or Habarana. Optional Elephant back safari of one hour.
Day 04: Habarana.
Visit Polonnaruwa UNESCO world heritage site in the morning. Visit Sigiriya UNESCO world heritage site for the sunset. Overnight at Sigiriya or Habarana. Optional Visit the ruins of Pidurangale forest monastery. Visit Hiriwadunna dry zone rural village for 2 hours.
Day 05: Kandy.
Check out and proceed to Kandy. Visit Dambulla caves UNESCO world heritage site and a spice garden at Matale on the way to Kandy. Kandy city tour and enjoy the cultural show in the evening. Visit temple of the tooth UNESCO world heritage site for evening ceremony (6.30 pm to 7.30 pm). Overnight at Kandy.
Day 06:Nuwara Eliya.
Visit Peradeniya botanical garden and proceed to Nuwara Eliya. Visit Ramboda falls and a tea factory on the way.
Day 07:Ella.
Check out early morning with take away breakfast and proceed to Horton Plains. After that proceed to Ohiya railway station to catch the train to Ella. This may be the most scenic train trip of Sri Lanka. The driver will travel along with your baggage to Ella railway station and wait for you. Explore Ella and overnight at Ella.
Day 08:Ella.
Visit Ella rock in the morning. Visit Demodara, Ravana caves, Dova temples and overnight at Ella. Explore Ella and overnight at Ella.
Day 09:Udawalawe.
Visit Little Adam’s Peak in the morning and proceed to Udawalwa. Visit Ravana falls on the way. After lunch, commence the jeep safari at Udawalawa national park (2.30 pm to 6.30 pm) to spot large herds of elephants, crocodiles and many more animals. Overnight at Udawalawa.
Day 10:Yala national park.
Visit elephant orphanage at 9 am for baby feeding and proceed to Kataragama. Overnight at Yala or Tissamaharama.
Day 11:Yala national park.
Commence a full day jeep safari at Yala national park (5.30 am to 5.30 pm) to spot leopards, sloth bears, spotted dears, wild bores, elephants, crocodiles and many more animals. Overnight at Yala or Tissamaharama. Optional you can two separate safaris in the morning and evening too.
Day 12:tangalle.
Visit Bundala national park in the morning. Check out and proceed. Visit Rekawa beach in the night to spot egg-laying turtles. Overnight at Tangalle.
Day 13: Tangalle.
Visit Mulkirigala rock temple. Leisure on the beach. Overnight at Tangalle.
Day 14:Galle.
Check out and proceed to Unawatuna. Visit stilt fishermen at Polhena / Weligama on the way. Visit Japanese temple at Unawatuna and explore Galle Fort in the evening. Overnight at Unawatuna.
Day 15: Departure.
Proceed to the airport for departure flight.
